Studio Props & Backdrops
One of my favorite parts of photography has nothing to do with the camera...
It's the hunt. 😊
Most of the props you'll find in my studio didn't come from a photography store. They came from antique shops, flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores, and little places I just happened to stumble across.
and that's half the fun.
Some of my favorite pieces are the ones I wasn't even looking for. I'll walk into a shop with no plan at all and leave with the perfect little bed, vintage chair, bowl, or basket that ends up becoming a favorite in the studio.
I always encourage photographers to keep their eyes open. You don't need to spend a fortune to build a beautiful collection. Some of my most-used pieces cost just a few dollars.
When it comes to printed backdrops, there is one company I find myself coming back to again and again.
The quality is beautiful, the colors photograph well, and they have a huge selection of styles for just about every type of session.
Many of the award-winning sets you've seen in my portfolio were photographed using their backdrops.

The same goes for floors.
A good floor can completely transform a set, and Kate Backdrop has some of my favorites. Whether I'm creating a timeless newborn setup or a seasonal scene, their floors have been a wonderful addition to my studio.
