Maternity FAQ

When should I book my maternity session?
Maternity sessions are typically scheduled between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined but you’re still comfortable. I recommend booking early in your second trimester to secure your preferred date.

What do I wear?
Every maternity collection includes access to my carefully curated client closet filled with gowns selected specifically for photography. I'll also help coordinate outfits for your spouse and children so your entire family photographs beautifully together.

Can my spouse and children be included?
Absolutely. Some of my favorite maternity portraits include the people who are already excited to welcome your newest blessing. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, we'll create portraits of everyone together as well as individual images of you.
 
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are held at The Little Ranch Farm, my private portrait property in Santa Fe, Texas. You'll have access to multiple outdoor locations along with my indoor studio, allowing us to create a variety of timeless images without traveling to multiple locations.

I don’t know how to pose.  Will you help?
Absolutely. Nearly every family you see throughout my website told me they felt awkward in front of the camera before their session. I'll guide you every step of the way with natural posing that focuses on genuine connection rather than stiff, uncomfortable poses.

Is there an advantage to booking maternity and newborn together?
Yes. Families who reserve both a maternity and newborn Farm Collection or Ranch Collection receive 50% off their maternity collection. It's my way of saying thank you for allowing me to preserve both milestones as your family grows.

How long does a maternity session last?
Most maternity sessions last between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the collection you choose. There's never any rush, allowing plenty of time for outfit changes, family portraits, and creating a beautiful variety of images.
