There was a season in my photography journey where imagination led everything.
Before The Little Ranch Farm became what it is today… before motherhood sessions, milestone portraits, and legacy albums filled my calendar… there was a creative spark that pushed me to ask one simple question:
“What if?”
What if children could stand beside giants?
What if dragons guarded the woods?
What if imagination felt real?
The Imagine With Me series was born from that question.
As a Houston children’s photographer, I found myself drawn to storytelling portrait photography — not just documenting childhood, but elevating it. I wanted to create fine art portraits that felt cinematic, whimsical, and larger than life. These images required hours of compositing, detailed retouching, and careful lighting to bring the impossible into existence.
It was art for the sake of art.
And it stretched me creatively in ways I will always be grateful for.
Those sessions weren’t just fantasy portraits.
They were proof that childhood is sacred.
In a world that moves quickly, imagination is one of the purest forms of magic we get to witness. Children believe fully. They dream without hesitation. They step into stories without fear.
Photographing that season of belief taught me something deeper:
The real magic isn’t the dragon.
It’s the child.
Over time, my work evolved.
Families began returning. Littles grew into siblings. Maternity sessions turned into newborn portraits. Newborns turned into first birthdays. And those first birthdays turned into annual family portraits.
What I realized is that the most powerful storytelling wasn’t always fantasy.
It was motherhood.
It was the quiet strength of pregnancy.
The way a father looks at his daughter.
The way a mother holds her baby just a little longer.
As a Houston and Galveston motherhood photographer, my focus shifted from building imaginary worlds… to preserving real ones.
And in many ways, that feels even more meaningful.
Although I no longer offer full composite fantasy sessions as a primary collection, the creative foundation they built still lives inside every portrait I create.
The light is intentional.
The styling is thoughtful.
The emotion is guided.
The setting is curated.
The Little Ranch Farm itself became my canvas — a private portrait property designed exclusively for children, families, and motherhood sessions. A place where golden-hour fields, greenhouse light, heirloom wardrobe pieces, and quiet countryside space replace the need for digital fantasy.
Because the real story is already beautiful.
The Imagine With Me series will always hold a special place in my heart.
It reminds me why I started.
It reminds me that creativity matters.
It reminds me that artistry is never wasted.
And while my work today focuses more on motherhood photography, milestone sessions, and family portraits in the Houston and Galveston areas, those fantasy images shaped the artist I am now.
To every family who trusted me with those creative ideas — thank you.
To every child who stepped into an imaginary world with complete belief — thank you.
And to the little girl inside me who always loved storytelling — thank you.
If you’re looking for a Houston children’s photographer or a Galveston family photographer who values storytelling, emotion, and legacy — I would be honored to create something meaningful for your family.
Because whether it’s fantasy or motherhood…
Every season deserves to be remembered.
